(Oh man, my computer froze while I was writing this. Good thing Firefox managed to save what I wrote. I hate saying this, but I need a new computer, or at least have this one checked out. It hasn't been right since Halloween or so.)

HEY.

My goal before winter ends is to get all outstanding commissions and art trades (big words, but I'm going to make an honest effort after I finish up my portfolio site) out of the way to open up possibly more commissions and trades. The availability of commissions would depend on the upcoming months and whether or not I can find a stable job by then, but trades will be a definite.

HOWEVER...

I have had a lot of bad experiences with trades. Back in the day I was very enthusiastic about them and would finish my picture within days. I was naive then, because most, if not, all the people I traded with didn't draw anything in return. Months and years would go by and I never hear back. Any efforts to reach them go ignored.

So after a year of plainness, I finally created a CSS for my journal (*Busiris has a companion CSS). I was hoping to ring in the new year with it, but this started as a whim on the eve of the 29th, so there wasn't much time for planning and such.

It looks best in Firefox (in Firefox you can see that the navigation on the right has some nifty rounded corners). I'm not too fond of epically long journal sidebars (long, page-stretching journals in general), so I tried to keep it as tight as possible.

Does it look okay to all of you? Any problems (send screenshots)? Suggestions?

Anyway, do you have any New Year's resolutions to share? Have you kept 2009's ones or broken them? What are you looking forward to this year?

My resolutions consist of the usual: draw more, get motivated, improve... Finish all the art I owe people... >_>

Holiday Cards 2009
They will be mailed out this evening! Technical difficulties were responsible for the delay, but all should be good now. It would be great if you could let us know when you receive your card. We don't want to be left wondering if they got lost.

It's that time o' year again!

Anyone interested in receiving a signed holiday card from *Busiris and myself this Christmas? Each card is a printed Christmas-themed artwork by us (size is roughly 4" x 6"), with a little handwritten holiday greeting by the both of us addressed to the recipient.

If you would like a card, send the following information to =neekko in a Note or e-mail (pokeme@drawgon.com):

Name: (username is fine!)
Address: (please include your country if you don't live in the United States)
Dedication: (i.e. "To Bob"--let me know who you want the card to be signed to; can be your real name, username, etc.!)

Please double-triple-quadruple-check your address! Last year we had a few cards bounce because you guys spelled your addresses wrong! ALSO: Please format your address as it should appear on the envelope, as sometimes address formats outside of the U.S. are different to me!

Kids! If your parents are the paranoid type, please ask permission or let them know that you are going to receive a card from us before signing up so they don't freak out over you receiving mail from strangers.

Sign-up closes Friday, Dec. 11 @ 6:00pm EST/GMT -5.
We won't be printing out the cards until we get an exact number of participants! Cards will be sent out the day after and, depending on where you live, it will take a few days to a week or so to arrive.

PS: If anyone wants to send us a card back, just ask in your Note/e-mail as well so I may provide you with the info.

I finally joined PatchTogether. I doubt I have enough fanbrats behind me to get something made into a toy, but I'm trying! If one of my designs gets enough public interest, it will be available for pre-order as a toy and I will be one step closer to achieving my goal of designer toy creator-dom. Please vote for them, as I will love you for it. Tell your friends, too!
